Small Businesses and Jobs

According to the U.S. Department of Labor small businesses are most likely to generate jobs for young workers, older workers and women and provide 67 percent of first jobs.

The ADP Employment report for July 2010: Large businesses, defined as those with 500 or more workers, saw employment remain flat and employment among medium-size businesses, defined as those with between 50 and 499 workers increased by 21,000. Employment among small-size businesses, defined as those with fewer than 50 workers, increased by 21,000 in July.*  ADP Employment report.
